Advancing the State of the Art with the PC-Scope
In 1893, August Köhler introduced his revolutionary illumination design. His "Koehler Illumination" (as it's come to be called) scheme was designed to produce the highest intensity of even illumination from a non-homogeneous source. This lens configuration also yielded far superior resolution and contrast over conventional illumination designs. This single achievement would be the only significant improvement to the optical design of the microscope for the next 100 years.

In 1995, TriTek design engineers threw out all conventional wisdom about microscope design and went back to the drawing board to reduce the microscope to its fewest necessary parts. What emerged was a cost-reduced design, easier to manufacture and easier to maintain. We call it the PC-Scope, a modular, easily-adaptable microscope design suited for any and all optical applications.
